How To Prevent Needle Roller Bearings From Rusting

  Before we introduce the anti-rust method of needle roller bearings, we should understand what causes the bearings to rust. We should understand what are the main factors affecting the corrosion of needle roller bearings. Then prescribe the right medicine

  The corrosion of needle roller bearings is caused by various internal and external factors, which can be summarized as follows:

  ①The material of the needle roller bearing itself is made of bearing steel, and the chemical composition and structure of the bearing steel itself may be oxidized into embroidery by air.

  ②The surface finish of needle roller bearings (corrosion of oxygen concentration difference battery);

  ③The composition and pH value of the solution in contact with the bearing surface;

  ④Ambient temperature and humidity for storing bearings;

  ⑤ Various environmental media in contact with the bearing surface.

  So what is the anti-rust method for needle roller bearings?

  1. First, the bearing surface is cleaned: the cleaning method must be selected according to the nature of the surface of the anti-rust object and the current conditions. Generally, solvent cleaning is used more, chemical treatment cleaning method and mechanical cleaning method.

  2. After the surface of the bearing is dry and cleaned, it can be dried with filtered dry compressed air, dried with a dryer at 120-170 degrees Celsius, or dried with clean gauze.

  The method of applying anti-rust oil on the bearing surface:

  1. Soaking method: Needle roller bearings are soaked in anti-rust grease to allow a layer of anti-rust grease to adhere to the surface. The thickness of the oil film can be achieved by controlling the temperature or viscosity of the anti-rust grease.

  2. In addition, human hand sweat can cause the corrosion of needle roller bearings. Human sweat is a colorless, transparent, or light yellow liquid with a salty taste and a weak acidity. Its pH value is 5-6. In addition to sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium salts, it also contains a small number of organic acids such as urea, lactic acid, and citric acid. When sweat comes into contact with the bearing surface, a layer of sweat film will be formed on the bearing surface, and the sweat film will cause electrochemical action on the bearing, corrode the bearing, and thus produce embroidery. Sweating is inevitable. The way to prevent corrosion caused by hand sweat is that the production personnel should wear gloves and finger cots when assembling the bearings, use special tools to take the bearings, and not touch the bearing surface with their hands.
