Method Of Cleaning Cross Roller Bearings

During the use of cross roller bearings, there will be many substances that reduce the bearing life and shorten the bearing life. Regular cleaning can increase the bearing life. Manual cleaning is only suitable for cleaning small bearings. Manual cleaning often takes the following methods alone or in combination:

The method: directly clean the dirt on the bearing with tools such as brushes and cotton silk.

The second method: rinse or spray the bearing with cleaning fluid, or rinse the bearing in the cleaning fluid by hand and turn the bearing to rotate at the same time. This is based on immersion, and the force generated by the relative motion between the bearing parts and the liquid is used to wash away the objects attached to the bearing.

The third method: Use hot oil, hot water, hot air, and steam to heat the bearing to melt and fall off the grease.

The fourth method: soak the bearing with a certain liquid medium, its main function is to separate the lubricant from the bearing so that the dirt is removed together with the lubricant. Among them, the commonly used media are solvent-based liquids and weakly alkaline liquids. The commonly used solvents are kerosene or diesel, because they have a certain decontamination ability and are less volatile, and are safer than flammable, explosive, and toxic media such as gasoline, acetone, and benzene. Commonly used weak alkaline liquids are sodium carbonate aqueous solution and some synthetic detergent solutions, whose main function is to remove the lubricant on the bearing through saponification reaction. The cleaning medium should not cause adverse reactions such as corrosion to the bearing.

The advantage of manual cleaning is that it does not require complex equipment and technology, and requires less investment. The disadvantage of manual cleaning is that the working conditions are poor, the efficiency is low, and the cleaning quality is affected by the operator's subjective factors. When the weight and size of the bearing are large, it is difficult to clean manually, and a mechanical cleaning method is required at this time. The cleaning of the bearing is also particularly important. Regular cleaning of the bearing can greatly increase the service life of the bearing.
